Fantomen was formed in late 2016 by veteran Atlanta musicians Alan Poole (lead guitar and backing vocals), John Lindsey (lead vocals and guitar), Matt McDaniel (bass) and Kurt Wagner (drums). Together they create a well crafted bombastic rock n roll outfit that is loud, fast and relentless. Their debut single “Light in the Woods/Witchery” is a high octane motorcycle ride into the unknown. The track features dazzling layered guitar work from Lindsey and Poole and a full throttle rhythm section by McDaniel and Wagner. House of Now has hit the ground running in 2018 releasing two singles since the beginning of the year. Brendan Page (guitar and vocals), RJ Williams (bass) and Stephen McCarthy Jr. (drums) started the project early last year and “Picking up my Feet” and “Need to Know” are proof of their relentless work ethic. Sonically, they weave together a muddy yet melodic grunge sound. Both singles have a dynamic quality showing off their songwriting and composing chops. You can hear House of Now this Friday, February 16th at 529 and stay up to date on their Facebook and Instagram.

With opening cords cut from the early 2000s, Satyr's single “Andromeda,” from their upcoming EP, is filled with clean melodic angst and infused with spot-on screamo. The drums hit hard and fast while guitar riffs keep up. While Satyr leaves pop-screamo heavy hitters like The Used to play the airwaves, they stay true to the cliches of the genre (suicide and depression). With such identifiable nods to the early 2000s, how could you not be transported back to the good days? Michael Campbell (Guitar and Vox), Brody Smith (drums), Calvin Cox (bass) and Janald Long (guitar and vox) felt called to the cause in early 2017 and are now playing all over town. You can check them out Friday, February 16th at the Masquerade, and March 2nd for their EP release at Toast and Jam Studios. Stay tuned for more to come on their Facebook, Instagram and check out the single on their SoundCloud.
