Southside Winter Throwdown @ The Casa Nova

The Casa Nova is a house venue located in Chosewood Park, a stone’s throw from the Atlanta  Penitentiary. Residents Emma Rubenstein, Lyle Baldes, Abigail Popwell, Arthur Cabral and Chris Mcgrath, when he’s on this side of the country, have been hosting local and touring bands since moving into the neighborhood in May of 2016.

Southside Winter Throwdown is next on the menu, taking place this Thursday December 1st.  It is a benefit show for homeless women in the Atlanta area. There will be a collection bin placed by the stage for donations. They are asking guests to bring any of the following items. Items with an asterisk are in the greatest need:

*Bras (new or gently used,sports, various sizes)

*Packs of new underwear

*Feminine hygiene products (maxi pads preferably)

Baby wipes



Personal care items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant,etc.)

Baby clothes

Hand warmers

XL-3XL women's warm clothing

The donations will be going to City of Refuge INC.

    Cloud City Music Group, run by Charlie Brite, put the line-up together that features: Jaxrenee (electro pop), Polygraph (rap), Coofee Jr (rock), Just Doug (rap), Hustle Jack$on (rap), Charlie Brite & The Zone 3 Death Blues (rock), and Molly Jones & The Dinner Club (folk). Come on out, support the local music scene and  disenfranchised women in need. The show is all ages, starts at 9, BYOB and there is a suggested donation of five dollars. There is plenty of parking on adjacent streets but carpooling is recommended.
